After many delays, the new Incorporated Associations Reform Act 2012 is  due to come into effect on 26 November 2012, replacing the Incorporated Associations Act 1981. The new Act contains a number of changes to the operation of incorporated associations.  New model rules will be published by Consumer Affairs after 26 November.  Incorporated Associations may continue to use their existing rules, but are advised to have these rules reviewed to ensure compliance with the new legislation.  If you have an incorporated association or if your club is considering becoming incorporated, contact our Business Law Team today for more information.
